St Michael’s Pupils Step Out for CAFOD Big Lent Walk 2026

St Michael Catholic Primary and Nursery School in Chatham enjoyed a truly special day as pupils and staff came together to take part in the CAFOD Big Lent Walk 2026, raising an incredible £1,000 for this important cause.

Children from Years 1–6 took on an impressive walk from the school to Rochester, travelling through the High Street, past the historic castle and on to the Esplanade. Walking with determination and enthusiasm, they embraced the challenge with a strong sense of purpose.

Meanwhile, Nursery and Reception pupils showed just as much energy and commitment, completing their own sponsored walk around the school field — several times over! Their efforts were met with great pride and encouragement from staff.

After completing the walk, the whole school community came together to enjoy lunch and celebrate their achievement. The generosity shown by families and the wider community has made a meaningful contribution to CAFOD’s work supporting those most in need.

Well done to everyone at St Michael’s for a day filled with faith, teamwork and kindness — a fantastic example of living out Lenten values in action.
